Terms and Conditions

1. Who we are

Planjeduik is a service of:

Externally (in the app and on this website) we only use the brand name "Planjeduik" — these terms and conditions state the legal name as required by law. See also our privacy statement for how we handle your data.

2. Applicability

These terms and conditions apply to any use of the Planjeduik app and website, including creating an account, viewing dive site and tide information, posting buddy requests, using the chat function and logging dives. By creating an account, you confirm that you have read these terms and conditions and agree to them.

3. The service

Planjeduik is a tool for divers in Zeeland. Among other things, the service offers:

• Information about dive sites (location, level, depth, marine life, facilities);
• A tide planner based on official Rijkswaterstaat predictions, including calculated dive windows;
• Current information based on the Rijkswaterstaat Scaloost model;
• A community logbook in which divers can share visibility, temperature and marine life;
• In the app: finding dive buddies via buddy requests and a chat function.

Some features are only available after creating a free account.

4. Your account

• You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential and for all activity under your account.
• You provide accurate information when registering and keep it up to date.
• You can delete your account yourself at any time via "Mijn Account → Account verwijderen" (My Account → Delete account). See the privacy statement for what happens to your data upon deletion.
• We may restrict or terminate an account in the event of misuse, fraud, or breach of these terms and conditions — for example, in the event of repeated inappropriate behaviour in the community (see article 7).

5. Safety — at your own risk

• You are responsible for your own safety and that of your buddy.
• Dive within the limits of your certification and your own abilities. If in doubt, do not enter the water.
• Planjeduik is not an official source of navigation or safety information.

6. Information displayed

• Tides are calculated on the basis of official Rijkswaterstaat data and are indicative. Local conditions may differ.
• Current data comes from the Rijkswaterstaat Scaloost model and consists of model predictions. Deviations from the actual situation are possible.
• Weather data is supplied by an external weather service and may differ from the actual conditions on site.
• Dive site descriptions and dive information are indicative and intended as general guidance. Always make your own assessment on site of the conditions (current, visibility, weather, slack water) before entering the water.
• Community dive logs (visibility, marine life, notes) are entered by other users and are not verified by us.

7. Community conduct

• In the buddy chat and the community, you behave respectfully. Offensive, threatening or inappropriate content is not permitted.
• You can report inappropriate behaviour or block a user in the chat; reports are reviewed as quickly as possible.
• Breach of these rules may lead to the deletion of your account.
• Community dive logs are processed anonymously — see the privacy statement for details.

8. Liability

Planjeduik and the makers of the app/website are not liable for any damage, injury or accidents arising from the use of the app or website, or from reliance on the information displayed therein (including tide, current, weather and dive site information). This applies without prejudice to the extent that mandatory Dutch law does not permit a more far-reaching limitation of liability.

9. Intellectual property

The Planjeduik name, the logo, and the design of the app and website are the property of De Witte Boulevard Persluchtstation. You may not use them without prior written permission. You may not commercially reuse dive site information and map material found within the app/website without permission.

10. Changes

We may amend these terms and conditions, for example when new features are introduced. In the event of significant changes, we will notify you via the app or by email. The date at the top of this page indicates when these terms and conditions were last updated. By continuing to use the app/website after a change, you agree to the amended terms and conditions.

11. Applicable law

Dutch law applies to these terms and conditions. We prefer to resolve any disputes arising from them by mutual consultation — if we cannot reach a solution together, the competent Dutch court shall have jurisdiction.
